About Us
Peninsula Therapy Hub was founded in 2021 by Eliza Kerwin, a qualified and registered Play Therapist. After working in a Singaporean school for children with disabilities, Eliza returned to Australia to work with the Department of Health and Human Services, helping children who had experienced trauma. Finally, after settling back in her home town of Mornington, Eliza decided to start the Peninsula Therapy Hub with the goal of creating a safe space for children to grow, learn, and develop. Our main goal has always been to create a space where the children of the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston, and surrounds can have access to high quality, evidence-based therapy services.
Peninsula Therapy Hub was started as a Play Therapy practice, but with the vision to expand further. We have a variety of different Play Therapists who are all accredited and registered with the Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association (AAPTA) who, while concentrating on Play Therapy, have a variety of interests and focuses such as working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), development delay, and working with children in group therapy.
Peninsula Therapy Hub was founded as a Play Therapy practice, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for children and families. We recognise that attending multiple appointments across different locations can be challenging for children and carers alike. By offering several therapeutic services within the same building, families are able to become familiar with the space, routines, and people, helping children feel safer and more comfortable over time.
As the practice grew, Peninsula Therapy Hub first expanded to include speech therapy services. Speech and communication differences can arise for many reasons and often co-occur with emotional, behavioural, or developmental needs already being supported through Play Therapy. Providing speech therapy alongside our existing services allows children to receive coordinated support in a familiar environment.
More recently, Peninsula Therapy Hub has expanded further to include child psychology and assessment services, delivered through PACE Health. These psychology services allow us to offer a broader range of mental health support for children, tailored to their individual needs and diagnoses.
Having multiple services within the one location also enables close collaboration between a child’s therapists. This supports shared understanding, consistent strategies, and a holistic approach that considers the child within the context of their family and everyday environments.
At Peninsula Therapy Hub, we are proud to be part of the Mornington Peninsula community and committed to providing high-quality, child-centred, and accessible therapy services that support children and their families to thrive.
