  • Sensory Seekers - Therapeutic Messy Play Group

    School Holiday Program

    4+ year olds

Maximum of 4 children per group

    Pay per session

    This program will focus on:

Emotional Regulation - Our play sessions incorporate calming and engaging activities that help children explore and manage their emotions. Through sensory experiences, like squishing, pouring, and mixing, children learn to identify and express their feelings in a constructive way. Our guided play helps them practice self-soothing techniques and develop coping strategies.

Building Sensory Tolerances - We provide a variety of sensory-rich materials and activities, such as textured playdough, slime, and tactile bins, to gently expose children to different sensory experiences. By gradually increasing their exposure, we help them build tolerance and comfort with diverse textures, smells, and sensations in a safe and supportive environment.

Increasing Confidence - Each session is designed to celebrate small achievements and encourage exploration. Children are given opportunities to experiment, problem-solve, and succeed at their own pace. Our positive reinforcement and encouragement help build their self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.

Supports Creativity - We provide a range of materials that invite imaginative play and artistic expression. Children can create, invent, and explore their artistic ideas, fostering their creative thinking and innovation.

Fine Motor Skills - Our activities include tasks that promote the development of fine motor skills, such as scooping, pouring, mixing, and molding. These activities strengthen the small muscles in the hands and fingers, which are essential for tasks like writing and dressing.

Social Skills - Through cooperative activities, sharing, and turn-taking, children learn important social skills like communication, empathy, and teamwork. The Therapist will guide positive social interactions and help children navigate social dynamics effectively.

Language Skills - As children engage in sensory and messy play, they naturally expand their vocabulary and language use. We incorporate verbal cues, descriptive language, and storytelling into the play to enhance their language development. Additionally, children are encouraged to describe their actions, share their thoughts, and ask questions, further enriching their language skills.
